Movie Night.

Sometimes you don’t need a formal film discussion — just a good movie and good company. Friday Movie Night is our casual way to discover interesting films around Toronto and meet other people who love cinema — and yes, it’s not always on a Friday :-) Join us for the screening, and when the mood is right, we’ll find somewhere nearby for a drink and an informal post-film conversation.

Kwaidan (1964)
Masaki Kobayashi

A Japanese horror anthology directed by Masaki Kobayashi from a screenplay by Yoko Mizuki. It consists of four separate stories adapted from Lafcadio Hearn’s collections of Japanese folktales. Set mostly in feudal Japan, the film explores vengeful spirits enforcing moral retribution while remaining largely indifferent to human suffering.
