I started After the Credits with a simple idea: watching a good film is better when there's someone to talk about it with afterward.
What began as small screenings and conversations has grown beyond the film club itself — into special screenings around Toronto, casual Friday movie nights, and plenty of conversations that continue long after the credits roll.
After the Credits isn't about knowing more about cinema than everyone else. It's about being curious, bringing your own perspective, and seeing where the conversation takes us.
On the programme

We’re heading to Fox Theatre for a screening of Kwaidan. Featuring colourfully surreal sets and luminous cinematography, these existentially frightening and meticulously crafted haunting tales tell us four stories of demonic comeuppance and spiritual trials. The screening may be followed by an informal conversation afterward.

Join us for TIFF Secret Movie Club, where the film remains a mystery until we take our seats, a TIFF programmer introduces the evening, and the experience continues with a post-screening conversation—followed, when we’re lucky, by an informal chat together at Varda.

Your film. Your night. Pick a film you’ve been dying to talk about, introduce it to the group, and take the host’s seat for one evening.
Beyond the screening room
Film-club life does not have to begin and end with a scheduled screening. These smaller gatherings make room for connection.
An unhurried coffee or drink after the formal discussion—for the thoughts that arrive ten minutes later.
No discussion questions, no agenda. Just an evening with people who always have another film to recommend.
Bring one film you believe the club should see and make the case for putting it on the programme.
From the archive
A selection of films we’ve watched together — usually a little outside the mainstream, and always with something interesting to talk about afterward. Consider it a little taste of what we like to watch and talk about at After the Credits.
